Often such law firms do not have an office in Brazil, may not have experience working on Brazil-based transactions, or simply wish to take advantage of the efficiencies the come from outsourcing a Brazil-based transaction to The Fidelis Law Group, which will act as its representative office in Brazil.
In connection with such representations, the law firm becomes our client, with a Fidelis lawyer representing the firm in Brazil, acting exclusively on the firm’s behalf in connection with such matter. The law firm’s client remains the client of the law firm, but benefits from The Fidelis Law Group’s unique capacity to function as such firm’s representative office in Brazil.
Translations and Localization Services
The Fidelis Law Group also offers translation and localization services. We work with a team of professional translators with in-depth experience translating legal agreements and documents from English to Portuguese and from Portuguese to English. In cases where such documents or instruments are required to be translated by a certified or “sworn translator”, The Fidelis Law Group works with a team of highly qualified sworn translators to provide our clients with the translation services they need.
Often an agreement translated from English to Portuguese must also be “localized” so that it functions as an equivalent agreement under, and complies with Brazilian law. In such cases, an experience Brazilian lawyer will review the translated agreement, making the necessary modifications and changes required to localize the agreement so that it complies with and will be enforceable under Brazilian law.
The Fidelis Law Group also provides localization services in connection with transactions governed by Brazilian law, which transaction documents are in English. In such cases, an experience Brazilian lawyer will review the agreements, localizing them so that such agreements comply with, and will be enforceable under Brazilian law. In situations where the final agreements must be translated into Portuguese and registered with the applicable government agency, The Fidelis Law Group also arranges for such translation and registration.
